Bare 'n' Blue is the second full length showcase of Rachael Pennell's unique vocal style. This seductive and intimate album has received critical acclaim from Jazz FM and BBC Radio 2, amongst others. Rachael is accompanied by arranger and pianist Jack Honeyborne. The duo have created a work including some beautifully delicate tracks, as well as a couple of more gritty numbers. The ease and ingenuity with which Jack compliments Rachael's voice is testament to his revered reputation as accompanist to some of the greatest and most popular singers of recent years. The big band sound of Papa Said... is absent here, replaced by evocative, expressive and spine tingling performances. Rachael truly exposes her soul through songs that are doubtlessly bare 'n' blue.

The album is distributed by BMG and is available:

In June 1997, Rachael recorded a demo tape of three tracks: Cole Porter's Let's Do It, Honeysuckle Rose, and a Californian blues, I'll Always Love You. On this recording were saxophonist Ben Martin and Young Jazz Musician of the Year finalist 1997, pianist Phil Ware.
